About Rebecca ...

Originally from the UK, Rebecca attended school in Buckinghamshire, and universities in Winchester and Lancaster (for her Bachelors and Post-Grad, respectively). She was an Art and Photography teacher in Lancaster and Nottingham whilst completing her Masters, before taking a year to travel the world, and then relocating to New Zealand to be with her (now) husband.

Rebecca worked as the CX Manager for an innovative NZ tech start up, OneRoom, before moving to work for internationally renowned design and brand agency, Dow Goodfolk (formerly Dow Design), becoming the Head of Client Services. During this time she also took on some interesting side projects as a Copywriter and Illustrator, including creating award-winning taglines and advertising copy.

In 2022, Rebecca was approached to work for a US-based Digital Marketing company, and has been working remotely for them since 2023 as the Head of Production. She moved with her family in early 2023 from New Zealand to Portugal.

Rebecca is a member of MENSA, an award-winning photographer, and an advocate for women’s health and neurodiversity inclusion and education.

"Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore."

‘We decided while our daughter was still young, to travel and give her the chance to get to spend time with her European-based family. We also wanted the opportunity for us to have some family adventures together,

It has been challenging and rewarding, and we are learning so much from the experience. I write about some of the learnings in my blog.

stuff that matters...

Female health.

'Having experienced hormonal health challenges throughout my life, this is something I am very interested in. If you're in Auckland, check out Roberta Mek for Acupuncture at https://vitalis.co.nz/team/#roberta-mek I also recommend the book 'Woman Code' (Alisa Vitti).'

Coffee.

'I didn't drink coffee before I met my husband. Now we're in Europe, it's one of the things I really miss about New Zealand. If you are ever in Milford, Auckland, I recommend Beam Cafe for their coffee and Beam Bene breakfast... you can thank me later.'

Data, organisation and Digital.

'I have always been a list-maker, and now I professionally keep things systemised and organised. I recommend the book Atomic Habits, and the online tool ClickUp for work.'

ADHD.

'I do not have an official diagnosis, but meet many areas of criteria that indicate neuro spicy behaviours and processes, and so I am now learning and upskilling as much as possible. What I am reading is helping me understand myself and my family more. I recommend the book the Neuroscience of Self Love.'

‘One of the ways I have found to tell stories is through photo journalism and videos. Three Stars – Volume 1 is the first of three films (in progress).’
